MSP Honors Veterans
Posted on 11/13/2017
The Middle School of Plainville celebrated Veterans' Day with numerous activities designed to educate the students and honor our local veterans and veterans across the country. An assembly was held to honor veterans from the families of the MSP community. Veterans from all the branches of military service were in attendance. The 8th grade band and the chamber singers provided musical accompaniment. The student council, military mailroom club and MSP boy scouts and girl scouts assisted with the day's events. A brunch was prepared for the veterans and their families as well. Special thanks to Suzanne Schweitzer, school psychologist and army veteran; Christina Corvello, science teacher and military mailroom club advisor; Melanie Olmstead, health teacher; Todd Helming, music teacher; and Barbara Senatore, band teacher, for their contributions in putting together the day’s events. Numerous other faculty and staff also contributed their talents to making the day a success.
